In this project we worked on the thermographic inspection of the Tahal photovoltaic plant, in the province of Almería, for the cooperative Som Energía.

The objective of this project is to detect possible anomalies that could lead to premature aging of the photovoltaic plant, in addition to producing a reduction in energy yield. The inspection was carried out with a DJI Matrice 300 RTK multirotor drone equipped with an RGB camera and a high resolution thermal camera, following the IEC TS 62446-3 standard of the IEC (The International Electrotechnical Commission)

The RGB photographs were used for a visual inspection of the plant to detect possible flaws (dirt, breaks, etc.), while the thermal images were used for a first analysis with the Mapsens® Solar algorithm, which analyzes the thermal behavior of each of the modules and their corresponding cells, so that the results could later be analyzed by a certified thermographer.

All these data were uploaded to the Mapsens®Solar viewer so that they could be consulted by the cooperative that owns the photovoltaic plant.

Contact TYC GIS if you want to know the status of your photovoltaic plant.
